R A P H I // Don’t worry about a thing, cause everything thing, is gonna be alright.

Exclusive Interview with Pharella for ATI Magazine.

Q1: If you had the opportunity to get an inspiring message across to a lot of people, what would your message be?

A1: If i had the opportunity to get an inspiring message across to a lot of people, my message would be to always be yourself and to never doubt your ability to succeed in something you are passionate about.

Q2: How did you get started with your music? And if you weren’t an artist/musician what would you want to be doing?

A2: I have always had a passion for music, my parents would be playing the classic soul sounds of Luther Vandross and George Michael around the house, to name a few. At the age of 4 I started my career in Karaoke singing whilst away on holiday lol then everyone realized I wasn’t giving up the microphone and it was the start of a true love for music.

People ask me this question all the time, but I always struggle to answer as there is nothing else I could see myself doing other than music. I have a love for fashion and baking so maybe one of them? But nothing compares to music for me, As Clique as that sounds.

Q3: What or who keeps you motivated and inspires you?

A3: Life, in general, inspires me! There’s constant inspiration around us on a daily basis and I feel blessed to have amazing support around me to keep me motivated.

Q4: What is the most memorable experience of your life/career so far? And what have you learned from it?

A4: My most memorable experience to date in my career would have to be when I was 15 years old and won the Be A Star competition with Capital Radio. It had always been a dream of mine to go on stage at the o2 Arena and now I can tick that off the bucket list. Winning a competition of that scale at such a young age really taught me to utilize every opportunity you get in life.

Q5: Would you go back and change anything in your journey so far? (If no, why)

A5: This is a Great Question! Initially, my first answer would be yes,  of course, we all make bad decisions growing up but now I think about it there is nothing I would change about my journey so far and that’s because I believe everything happens for a reason and the hard/good times have made me who I am today!

Q6: In the next two years what do you ASPIRE to have done?

A6: In the next two years I would love to be able to say that I have performed at a festival and released my first ever album, which is what I’m currently working on.

Q7: How much of your life and background have influenced you to become a songwriter/musician?

A7: My background and life have a huge influence on my music both lyrically and musically. I usually write about things I or someone close to me has experienced. My music is quite personal, so it is always daunting to share as I want people to be able to relate.

Q8: What lyrics mean the most to you and why (ones you have written and or ones you didn’t write)

A8: The Lyrics “Don’t worry about a thing, cause everything thing, is gonna be alright” by Bob Marley are one of the strongest lyrics in my opinion. Just by the simplicity of the statement to live life stress-free and happy.

Q9: If you could collaborate with anyone who would to it be and why?

A9: The Ultimate collaboration for me would be Jennifer Lopez!! She has and will always be my biggest inspiration where music is concerned. I love the realness of her personality and the way it shines through in her music and this is something I hope will come through in mine.

Q10: What is the most inspiring message you have internalized in life so far?

A10: I watched a film many years ago that had the saying “Don’t let the fear of fighting, keep you from playing the game” This is the most inspiring message to me and after watching that film, I now live by that every day.

Q11: What is your motto in life/what do you live by?

A11: I think it’s safe to say I truly do live by the motto “Everything happens for a reason” in any situation, to me, it’s the most real saying ever!

Q12: What is currently on your playlist?

A12: My playlist is quite random at the moment, I have a mixture of country songs, dance tunes, even some rock. I love to listening to a range of genres.

Q13: If you could have a song to be the soundtrack to your life what would it be and why?

A13: The song to be the soundtrack to my life hands down will forever and always be “All my life” by k-ci and Jojo. The soul and sweet music of that song is just everything to me and truly inspired me from a young age.

Q14: What are your biggest dreams? and what are your biggest fears

A14: My biggest dreams are to perform at Madison Square Gardens and to swim with sharks. My biggest fear is Snakes.

Q15: What is next for you/your plans for the next year?

A15: Next for me is to just get all the music I’ve been working on for the past year out for everyone to listen to and enjoy. I’m super scared but also very excited. I always love to plan things but we never know whats around the corner so I’m going to say my plans for the next year are to just keep developing as an Artist and perform as much as I can and share great tunes!

Q16: What would your advice to be to those out there who want to live out their dreams?

A16: To anyone who has a dream no matter how big or small! Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do it because the word Can’t does not exist. Remove it from your vocabulary!

Q17: Lastly, for those who don’t know where can people follow your career?

A17: You can follow the journey via Instagram | Twitter
