Q1: If you had the opportunity to get an inspiring message across to a large number of people, what would your message be?
A1: My message would be never be scared of failure, as life is a journey and not a destination.
Q2: How did you get started with your music? And if you weren’t an
artist/musician what would you want to be doing?
A2: I started out as the lead guitarist and songwriter for a indie/rock band. I was always fascinated with guitar bands like Oasis and the Stereophonics and that was the reason for choosing to learn the guitar when I was 13. It was always music for me so i couldnt see myself anywhere else but if i had to say probably a car sales man because people always tell me i have the gift of the gab!
Q3: What or who keeps you motivated and inspires you?
A3: I think my family and friends keep me motivated and inspire me being honest. It’s a great feeling when people you care about genuinely enjoy the music your creating. I also like the fact they share their opinions with me on my work. Its easy for someone to tell you something’s good but it’s not easy to be honest and say what you really think and they do which is wicked.
Q4: What is the most memorable experience of your life/career so far? And what have you learnt from it?
A4: I did my first UK Tour of what is know as ‘The Toilet Circuit’ when i was 21 and drove round the whole of the country in a vauxhall zafira (which was hilarious as sound engineer’s we’re expecting a van at soundcheck and not a “Mum Car”). Looking back this taught me a lot, It helped me learn how to play to raw crowds warming up for other artists and it teaches you to be brutally honest with your set and play songs that get the crowed jumping rather than the songs you personally like the most.
Q5: Would you go back and change anything in your journey so far? (If no, why)
A5: I think the only thing i would have changed would have been to be a little more selfish and focus on my writing and myself sooner, rather than waiting for other people to let me down. You could say it was part of my experience and learning process but I love only having myself to rely on as I can only let myself down and no one else is to blame.
Q6: In the next two years what do you ASPIRE to have done?
A6: I would love to play TomorrowLand Festival in Belgium as it just looks so awesome there! I think also to collaborate on a track with a big name artist is a huge goal of mine.
Q7: How much of your life and background have influenced you to become a songwriter/musician?
A7: My writing is hugely influenced by my past. I’ve experienced alot of painful emotions growing up and lost people that i care so much about. I always struggled to deal with the way that I felt so i channeled it into my writing as i felt like i could escape normality for a short time sat behind a piano or guitar. I also find myself people watching alot of the time. Most songs that i have written are about arguments between couples on a night out that I’ve unintentionally witnessed or things people have told me about their love life and that usually sparks something in my mind to write about it. 8) What lyrics mean the most to you and why (ones you have written and or ones you didn’t write) I’d have to say “He said one day you’ll leave this world behind, So live a life you will remember” from Avicii’s track ‘The Nights’. I just think the lyrics are simple but ring so true!
Q9: If you could collaborate with anyone who would to it be and why?
A9: I’d love to work on a track with Ariana Grande. I think she is the most naturally gifted singer I’ve ever heard and i think she would absolutely nail any track I put in front of her.
Q10: What is most inspiring message you have internalised in life so far?
A10: It was something my mum said to me when i was younger she said “its not the hand your dealt, Its the way you play it”. Life has a way of throwing things at us that are completely out of our control, but I think when you put this saying into practise you realise you can conquer anything in life even when it feels like the odds are against you.
Q11: What is your motto in life/what do you live by?
A11: “Live for Today, Fuck Tomorrow” and i know Its a bit cliché whatever but I think its so relevant to all of us. I think people worry to much about the future and forget to enjoy and soak up what they have right now! People can unintentionally let the best days of their lives slip through their fingers worrying about things that don’t matter.
Q12: What is currently on your playlist?
A12: I’m a huge fan of future/electro house music and they’re are loads of wicked tracks coming out right now! (Just in time for summer aswell 🙂 some of my recent favourites are: Morgan Page FT Stella Rio & Damon Sharpe – Beautiful Disaster (Futuristic Polar Bear Remix) Dubvision & Afrojack – New Memories, Calvin Harris Ft Dua Lipa – One Kiss
Loud Luxury Ft Brando – Body, David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Brooks – Like I Do.
Q13: If you could have a song to be the soundtrack to your life what would it be and why?
A13: David Guetta Ft Neyo & Akon – Play Hard. I just love the energy of the track and when i hear it, it makes me wanna drop everything I’m doing and just go party or something!
Q14: What are your biggest dreams? and what are your biggest fears?
A14: My biggest dream is to be a world renowned Music Producer/ DJ of course. My biggest fear is a bit strange but i have a phobia of octopuses, I don’t know why they just really freak me out!
Q15: What is next for you/your plans for the next year?
A15: I’m planning to release some tracks in the near future to then go onto touring thereafter. I’m also going to be producing some tracks for other artists and writing some material for them also.
Q16:What would your advice to be to those out there who want to live out there dreams?
A16: Kind of touching on my point earlier, life is way too short not to! We all get one chance to be the best versions of ourselves and surely that version is happy enjoying what you do! Iv’e had people say to me in the past ‘Get a Job’ and stuff but i always took it as it was coming from a place of jealousy. It was never going to stop me!
17) Lastly, for those who don’t know where can people follow your career?
